Donald Trump in Good Condition After Shooting at U.S. Campaign Rally: What We Know

Donald Trump, former president of the United States and current Republican candidate for the November elections, was evacuated on Saturday by Secret Service agents during a rally in Pennsylvania after apparent gunshots were heard. The former president had blood in his ear.

According to the Washington Post, Trump had barely begun his speech at this campaign rally, one of the last before he is officially named the presidential nominee at the Republican Convention that begins Monday, when loud noises were heard.

The former president crouched behind the lectern, but soon stood up, surrounded by agents who escorted him off the stage to his vehicle. The first images show Trump with blood on his face and raising his fist in front of his supporters in defiance.

"We saw a lot of people drop to the ground, looking around in confusion. I heard gunshots, it sounded like firecrackers and a small caliber gun," said John Yeykal of Franklin, Pennsylvania, who was attending a Trump rally for the first time.

Anthony Guglielmi, head of communications for the U .S. Secret Service, wrote on his X account that Trump is safe. Trump's spokesman also stated that the candidate is being checked at a local medical center.

"An incident occurred the afternoon of July 13 at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania. The Secret Service has implemented protective measures and the former president is safe. This is now an active Secret Service investigation and more information will be released as it becomes available," Guglielmi wrote.

House Speaker Mike Johnson posted on his X account that he is "praying for President Trump," while House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik also weighed in and asked for prayers for the former president.

The situation has generated concern and multiple reactions both in the United States and internationally. Security at Trump's campaign events, always high, has been further tightened following this incident. We will continue to report as more details become known.
